Well .. I guess you can’t have a great thing forever! It was great while it lasted and turned out to be a life saver.. 

However, with great sadness we say good- bye to Questhelper, and sort of eyeball a new age helper… Carbonite.

While at first I found Carbonite awkward and too  techie for myself, it has grown on me  and I am learning to appreciate it. I really am enjoying the red line you create on the map that shows where you’ve been. Not only is it great for making doodles, for those directionally challenged it’s a miracle to know you went the wrong way and know how to go back the way you just came without wandering aimlessly. 

In short no more questhelper.. check out carbonite!

For all of you who are new to the game, it’s that time of year for Noblegarden or as i sometimes think .. Greedies Egg Hunt.  There are commoners throughout the lands, and they invite you to visit starting areas for the Noblegarden Questgivers.  They give a few quests like – Collecting Noblegarden chocolates… and another is COllecting broken shell fragments. It makes it easier if you get both at once to kill two birds with a stone!  I myself happened to have good luck at Falconwing Square which is a starting area for Blood Elfs near Silvermoon City.  This Festival runs thru Sat May 2nd. There are some really cute prizes so check it out and enjoy the season!.

hopefully this works- I am still learning the technical side of this stuff. =) I love the original song and thought this was a riot! Gosh there are some creative people out there and I say … KEEP IT COMING!

New to WoW, well you aren’t alone. While I’ve only been playing a year, until some recent hints from well established players  I was taking forever to do anything and constantly lost! 

The things that helped me the most :

1. Check out  www.wowwiki.com – for me that site has been a life and time saver in this game. Friends told me it was the “map quest” of WoW.. they weren’t kidding either! You can type anything in about the game and it tries to give you the place it drops, by whom and more. WOOT!

2. If your pc/mac can handle it download some add ons, auctioneer advanced has helped me make enough money to get the guild bank etc.. up! Along with lofty member donations as well! =) 

I found the downloads on www.wowmatrix.com  another great site!! All the adds you can imagine on there!  So get a minute check out the sites and get ahead on the game!

OK, so we might be starting out small but with my desire to try out new technologies (It’s a geek thing, sorry) I thought I’d see what I could do to create a guild forum. I’m unsure of how much need we have for a forum, but feel compelled to try out new things anyway.  Enter ShoutEM, a service tht lets users create their own microblogging networks.  If you’re familliar with Twitter it’s sort of like that, only more customizable  and much, much smaller.

Again, I’m not sure if this is the right thing for us, but I’d like to give it a try.  If you’re interested, the Fortune Favors forum can be found here.  Fortune Favors, as many of us know already, is the sister guild of Gnomeregan Defense League.

I’m still tweaking the look and feel, but thought I’d announce it now anyway.

Well now that the guild is up and running we have begun doing small group guild runs on occasion. 

Our first guild instance was Ragefire Chasms or RFC. It is the lowest level run on the horde side I have seen. The levels range from 13-16, and is a 5 man instance. We managed to dps the instance to death with 3 hunters and a rogue. We picked up a lot of green cloth items so it may be a good place to collect green for you cloth wearers. 

Right after we did a run thru Shadowfang Keep or SFK. The levels in here jump from 18-24. Our tank bailed at the last minute and we decided to try it anyway. We had our healadin tank  pally  Kasplat, Dragonstaber a rogue, Vandrelia a warlock and Birgette my hunter. It started messy until we used a strategy, then things were going smoother. We do all agree a tank would have made the instance much better as our healadin’s ability to tank was great effort but that’s not what he is spec’d for. He’s meant for healing and his mail took  a brutal beating to the point he ended the instance in cloth.  This of course had us all cracking up – a pally tank male mind you- in a dress lol!! While we completed the instance, the importance of a good tank can not be stressed enough and having the right group together can make all the difference in an instance. Things can get irritating and  they tend to lose their fun when you lose your cool. Sooooooooo… hindsite and lesson learned- a good group = a good time and a great instance run!
