Drabble: In which Hasteur wonders if Splat will read this.

Bry’on has been stalking his prey for hours.  He was on the trail of the elusive Time Lost Proto-drake.  All thoughts about his personal needs were shunted to the side, perhaps unwisely.  He had seen Varygosa fly by several times.  He knew that his time was coming; however a shifting and gurgling inside his armor told him that he had gone too long without dealing with biological necessities.  A gnome on a magic carpet flew by later and noticed the tauren stuck in the mountain by his horns.  He deduced that it was a simple case of jet propelled evacuation.

Drabble: Deldeth takes a walk

The afternoon sun cast long shadows as Deldeth strolled alongside her pet wolf, Beowoof. Suddenly, the beast’s ears pricked up and it searched frantically for the source of the sound. “What is it, boy?” Deldeth asked as she removed her rifle from her back. “Maybe we should go check it out”. A little while later, they came upon a pair of Worgen, happily tossing a small object back and forth. “Silly Puppy”, Deldeth chided, “it’s just a couple of Worgen playing with their… Oh wait”. She started running towards the pair, waving her arms. “Hey!” she shouted “drop that Gnome!”

Squeamish folk may not want to watch the very end.

Episode 26: Stormi’s quiet as a mouse.

Alas, Stormi’s voice gave out right before we started recording.  Nevertheless, you can hear her whispering a few comments here and there throughout the episode.

We’ve switched to a new format.  From now on (or until we change our minds), new content (short fiction, news, quest write-ups, etc.) will be uploaded in separate posts as they’re created/submitted.  This way even if we end up missing a show for whatever reason (earthquake, hurricane, Back-To-School Night, etc.) you’ll still be able to get your IRBL fix.

Drabble: How Hai’Sca lost her voodoo

(Drabbles are stories that are exactly 100 words long.  Splat writes 1 drabble per episode, but we’re always happy to have more.  If you feel inspired and have a Warcraft or Minecraft themed drabble, send it in to irbl @ myguildhome .com and we’ll read it on the show.)

Hai’Sca had been tracking had been tracking the prey for days, though tracking was probably not the best term. Simply looking for the malfunctioning devices on the ground and the random explosions was all the pointer she needed. As she peaked from behind the tree she heard a whirring noise. As she dismissed it her rump was bitten into by a set of metal mechanical teeth. “Excellent” a high pitched voice said. “This will pay my dues for EGADS, insurance premiums, and then some. A self-detecting and targeting trap.” Hai’Sca attempted to run while concocting an explanation for her predicament.

Quests of Interest: “Stocking Up”

Fish up 5 Lake Whitefish anywhere you can fish in Darnassus.  Pretty simple.

Here’s the story.  Astaia Needs you to help her to restock these Lake Whitefish so they have a nice stock for when another disaster or a Horde invasion happens.  They have used up what they had in stock to help out with taking care of the refugees & to feed the people who lost everything.  The good thing (& yet I don’t even wanna know where they are storing these) is that Astaia tells you that “Once they are dried, they will keep until needed.”  O.o   This is fish we are talking about here.  Dried, dead fish.  Ewwww.  >.>

The little gnome sat in the corner of a room afraid, the Forsaken had him, and he was lost. The door to the room exploded open, Drethan rushed in taking the Forsaken by surprise. Namastia following in behind, they were a mated pair of Worgan and never left each other’s side. Drethan tore into the Forsaken trio with a ferocity and blood lust that terrified the little gnome. The little creature felt a tickle of nature touch him as Namastias’ magic protected him. As the last of the Forsaken fell Crashbang the little gnome heard Drethan say, “No one messes with my chew toy, Forsaken scum.”

Drabble: In which Hasteur wants to trip Splat up again.

Like any good orc warrior Bragdush ate meat. He noticed that he was unable to grip his flail with as much strength as normal and that his grip was tender. He consulted the platoon’s apothecary and found no relief. He consulted with a goblin specialist in Bilgewater Harbor. The specialist poked at Bragdush’s fingers with sharp implements and collected a sample. A bolt of lightning shot into the sample and a tinny voice announced “Paronychia: Caused by fungal and bacterial infection around the site of improperly cut nails”. “Your payment will be launched over Frostmane Hold” the kiniving goblin muttered.
